July 10, 2026

Updated: May 21, 2026
After talking with you when we had dinner together on May 17, 2026, I wondered if I should be planning things for you to do when you're in Colorado that day. I'm assuming you're planning to stay in south Denver. Those two things sparked the idea to go to a concert at Red Rocks which is a hard-to-beat activity from a "wow" perspective.

But there are many other things you can do with your time that day. There's no need to make a fast plan, unless you want to get concert tickets. Here are some ideas to ponder. In the meantime, we'll plan to serve a meal at our house. Whatever we decide to do, we will plan for ways for you to spend some time with Jim.
  • Talk. As you know, I can go for weeks.
  • There is a walking/bike trail at the end of our street, and after ~20 years, the long loop has finally been completed. That means we could walk for 40-50 miles on it.
  • There are lots of hiking opportunities nearby, and Friday will be less crowded than Saturday and Sunday. I'd probably suggest we hike to Horsetooth Falls which is a ~20 minute drive and relatively easy, without being lamely easy.
  • Have lunch at Michawaka (an hour north of Fort Collins) - Food isn't good for you, but the setting is :)
  • If staying out really late isn't an issue, there is a 7:00 pm Campfire Concert at Michawaka, and tickets are only $21 each (no added fees).
  • Rodeo Museum in Cheyenne (plus lunch & shopping). I went there a few years ago and enjoyed it a lot more than I expected. If you keep your expectations low, you might enjoy it too.
  • Haselmaier home projects. I always have a list a mile long of things I want to do around the house and would be happy to tailor an activity to your interests. We could work inside or outside as you wish. This activity could be as easy as "consulting". e.g. Should I buy new shutters?
  • Connect with Megan Tooley. (It looks like she still lives in Fort Collins.)
