A Proven Job Search Process
Why Use this Process?

Some claim that up to 85% of jobs are found via networking, so this process (or something like it) is most likely to be your key to success.

Sometimes (but not always), jobs posted online are filled before they're posted. This 8-step process can  help you figure out which postings are "real" vs. already filled so that you don't waste your time applying for positions created for somebody else.

A friend recently told me that many job postings are fake and posted to make a company look successful. This is another reason networking makes the most sense when looking for a job.

With that said, not everyone uses a process like this one to find work, and this may not be the process for you. For example, I've heard of people traveling > 1,000 miles to hand-deliver their resume without an invitation, sitting in a reception area for days hoping for a meeting, and focusing energy on just a few opportunities. And all of those processes worked (for at least one person).

This 8-step process is what works for most people. It's basically a detailed description of networking; which is the way lots of people find work.
